چکیده
Considering visual culture alongside written source material, this article uncovers the socioeconomic aspect of Korean Buddhist monastic life, which has been a marginalized field research. Arguing against idea an “other-worldly” Buddhism, specifically discusses ways in monasteries conducted fundraising activities late Koryŏ period (918–1392 CE) Korea. Via strategies, targeted wealthy aristocrats as well commoner population, monks managed production and maintenance material culture, such construction shrines, casting precious sculptures, carving thousands woodblocks used for printing sacred scriptures. While scholarship on Buddhism traditionally focused meditation, doctrine, state sponsored rituals, temples’ relationships with royal court, study expands by showing that economic were salient features “on ground.” By initiating overseeing activities, manager-monks not only gained merit, but also maintained presence physical appearance temples, constitute framework ritual practice.

Piling Up Pillar[5]arenes To Self-Assemble Nanotubes.
New liquid-crystalline pillar[5]arene derivatives have been prepared by grafting first-generation Percec-type poly(benzylether) dendrons onto the macrocyclic scaffold. The molecules adopt a disc-shaped structure perfectly suited for self-organization into a columnar liquid-crystalline phase. In this way, the pillar[5]arene cores are piled up, thus forming a nanotubular wire encased within a she...
متن کاملExtended Linear Cryptanalysis and Extended Piling-up Lemma
In this paper, we extend the idea of piling-up lemma and linear cryptanalysis applied to symmetric-key block ciphers. We also examine this new method of Extended Linear Cryptanalysis on two-round Rijndael, which is designed to be immune to linear cryptanalysis attack. Even though our results do not show much surprise on two-round Rijndael, the effects on other block ciphers remain open questions.
متن کاملMaximal Data Piling in Discrimination
In a binary discrimination problem, a linear classifier finds a linear hyperplane that separates two classes by partitioning the data space. Especially in a High Dimension Low Sample Size (HDLSS) setting, there are linear separating hyperplanes such that the projections of the training data points onto their normal direction vectors are identically zero, or some non-zero constant. Of interest i...
